 This is Roosevelt (Rosie), our elderly rescued basset hound.  He's the Gounds Maintenance Officer, here at The Country Bumpkins B&B.  He kicks back and relaxes most of the time!

Spring HAS SPRUNG, and it is particularly beautiful this time of year in bedford, virginia and the blue ridge mountains!

  We continue to maintain our reasonable base rate of $95/night for 1-2 adults, but we have changed to a 2-night minimum stay this year.

    Don't forget, we are an easy drive to Liberty University and Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, VA.  Plan to come visit us for special events--graduations and weddings--you'll be conveniently close but just slightly removed for a little peace and quiet.

Directions:

From the north--I-81 to exit 188 (Buena Vista, US Hwy. 60 E) to State Hwy. 501 towards Lynchburg.  You'll be driving over the mountains.  Look for Hwy. 122 S (Big Island) towards Bedford; turn R on Hwy. 122 S.  We are about 10-11 miles on the left.  When you see Stoney Brook Rd. on left, slow down!  We are the first driveway on the left.  Our mailbox is a marker on the right--7765.

From the east--From Lynchburg, VA, take Hwy. 460 W towards Roanoke.  Go about 25 miles past Lowe's and Walmart on the right.  Look for right exit that says Hwy. 122 N (Big Island); stay in right lane and turn right at the light (CVS).  You are on Independence Ave. which is 122 N.  Stay on this road for approximately 9 miles.  We are on the right with a sign at the base of our driveway.  You will not be able to see the house from the road.

GPS are great, but cannot be trusted in these parts!  We know some short cuts when you get here, but if you don't look at the old fashioned map, you will see more countryside than you probably want to!  Particularly not so great, if you are arriving after a hard day's drive or after dark!
